GENERAL MANAGER'S MESSAGE
 Dear Guests and Friends of Sandy Lane,
Warm and sincere greetings from Barbados and from all the Sandy Lane team!
We have had one of the most successful summer holiday seasons ever at Sandy Lane with
excellent weather and many events going on across Barbados. It has been wonderful to
welcome back so many returning families and as ever, our Treehouse Club and its excellent team
have been very much at the centre of the action. A recent highlight for our children being the
hatching of many baby Hawksbill turtles on our own Sandy Lane beach, a truly amazing sight.
The recent Taste of Barbados Food Festival (in its second year) is growing from strength to
strength and is now developing into a most wonderful week of culinary events and experiences,
showing the best of what Barbados has to offer. Do join us in 2008!
Within the hotel, we have also taken the opportunity in September to complete a substantial
number of necessary improvements and renovations around the property, and we have been
working with our interior designers to give a fresh look to several areas.
We recently appointed several new faces to our senior management team, some of whom you
will be meeting on the front-line when you visit us.
I am delighted to welcome them all: -
Jean-Christophe Requero who joins us as Food & Beverage Director, coming to us after many
years’ experience with the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in both Canada and the United States and
with previous Caribbean experience in Guadeloupe.
Walwen Ashby has joined us as Front of House Manager working alongside Alpha Jackman,
Director of Guest Services. Walwen joins us from the Hilton Barbados where he was part of their
opening team in 2005.
In our Bajan Blue restaurant, we warmly welcome back Manny Ward as Restaurant Manager.
Manny was a key part of the Sandy Lane team some years ago and returns to us after several
years of running his own business.
Please join me in welcoming these gentlemen and all the new additions to our team. We all
greatly look forward to serving many of you over the coming months and we promise to do our
utmost to further improve the Sandy Lane experience for you all.
We look forward to the Spring and Summer seasons and thank you sincerely for your ongoing loyalty and support to Sandy Lane.
